Dr Raj Selvarajan, a Specialist General Practitioner with extensive experience in vasectomy procedures, leads the service. He has performed more than 10,000 no-scalpel vasectomies in Australia and the UK. The no-scalpel technique used does not involve the use of scalpels, stitches, or clips, and is performed under local anaesthesia.

For patient convenience, we offer a one-visit model where, if clinically appropriate, both the consultation and vasectomy procedure may be performed on the same day. All relevant information and consent documents are provided to patients in advance via email upon booking. This allows adequate time for review and informed decision-making prior to the procedure.
Medicare rebates are typically processed on the day of the procedure, and patients generally receive their rebate directly into their nominated bank account linked with Medicare. Upon arrival, patients are welcomed by our friendly receptionist and guided through a thorough consultation with Dr Selvarajan. This is an opportunity to ask questions, understand the procedure in full, and ensure you are comfortable and confident in your decision. We offer an oral sedation medication to help you relax prior to the procedure at no extra cost. Patients can not drive home if they had oral sedation. If the procedure was performed without oral sedation, patients may choose to drive home. However, we highly recommend that you have someone to drive you home after the procedure. The vasectomy procedure may take approximately 15 - 20 minutes and is performed under local anaesthesia.
Before leaving, you’ll receive comprehensive aftercare instructions along with a sample kit and guidance on when and how to complete the required semen analysis to confirm the success of the procedure.
