Dr. Raj Selvarajan, a Specialist General Practitioner with extensive vasectomy procedural experience, established the first Scalpel Free Vasectomy Clinic in Australia in Mackay in 2014. Since then, he had expanded his services to Brisbane, Cairns, Sunshine Coast, Burpengary East, North Lakes, Springwood and Wagga Wagga.
With over two decades of experience and having performed thousands of vasectomies across the UK and Australia, Dr.Raj is committed to providing comprehensive information and guidance to support informed decision-making and patient-centred approach to permanent contraception.Â
Vasectomy is a medical procedure that carries potential risks and complications, as well as the benefit of permanent contraception. A thorough consultation is essential to understand the procedure and ensure it’s the right choice for you. We also recommend considering a second opinion from an independent doctor to support your decision-making process.Â

Dr.Raj maintains a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and regularly undertakes training to update and maintain his clinical skills. He holds multiple postgraduate qualifications relevant to his scope of practice.
Doctors trained in Scalpel Free Vasectomy have to undergo specific training experience in this technique. Scalpel Free Vasectomy Clinics are dedicated to providing men with Scalpel Free Vasectomy procedures (SFV).
We typically perform between 8 to 12 vasectomy procedures per day, averaging around 30 procedures each week. While demand can varyâoften increasing after school holidaysâevery procedure is approached with the same level of care and clinical attention.
Vasectomy is a medical procedure and, like all surgical interventions, carries potential risks, including infection or failure. At our clinic, we use evidence-based techniques and follow strict infection control protocols to help minimise these risks.
Our priority is to ensure that every patient is well-informed, supported, and comfortable throughout the processâfrom consultation to aftercare.
