When patients arrive, they will be greeted by our Receptionist and after your initial consultation, you will be offered an anxiolytic medication to help relax.
Your procedure will take place shortly after the time for the medication to take effect, which is usually 30min to 45min.
The procedure takes approximately 15minutes and you can go home immediately after the procedure.
All aftercare instructions and kits to do sample tests will be provided before you leave the Clinic.

When you first arrive at the Cairns Vasectomy Clinic, please present to the reception.
Your consultation will be with Dr.Raj Selvarajan, vasectomy surgeon and you will be given full information about pre and post procedures and you will have plenty of time to ask any additional questions you may have.
The procedure is done under a local anaesthetic, making it virtually painless. In addition, you will also be offered a pre-operative medication to relax and to reduce any anxiety that you may experience.
